Pane Carasau also known as "carta da musica" (sheet music) due to its paper-thinness and the crackly sound it makes when broken, is a staple of Sardinian cuisine. It is a round, dry, and crunchy product made from durum wheat semolina, water, yeast, and salt.  Panificio Pina Contu is a bakery in Orosei, Sardinia, active since 1964, that produces this traditional bread using local ingredients and ancient craftsmanship.
